Musings On Yellow
I picked up a yellow book from the discard pile by my studio today. Yellow covers are rare finds. A little goes a long way. Yellow is the warmth of light during both the day and the night. Candle light, sun light, star light. It can outshine other colors easily and sometimes it needs to be on its own, talking to itself or with one other color that grounds it on the paper. I like thinking of yellow as a color of freedom, one that can’t be dulled or told to “keep it down,” a rebel of sorts that takes up the room it needs and then makes the room larger for everything else to shine in.
